Are you a Catholic man with Irish heritage?
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) warmly invites you to join a proud and historic brotherhood committed to celebrating faith, heritage, and community service. Since 1836, the AOH has been the premier Irish Catholic organization in America, fostering connections among men of Irish descent and strengthening the bonds of friendship and unity through shared values and a dedication to service.
Who Are We?
We are the local division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), America’s oldest Irish Catholic organization, and we are dedicated to living out the AOH motto of Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity.
Named after Gov. Thomas Burke, North Carolina’s first Irish-born governor, our division celebrates and preserves the rich history of Irish immigrants and their contributions to America.
We aim to:
- Strengthen Our Faith: Through communal worship, prayer, and support, we deepen our Catholic faith and live out its teachings in our daily lives.
- Preserve Irish Culture: From organizing cultural events to promoting Irish music, dance, and history, we keep our heritage alive for future generations.
- Serve Our Community: Through charity initiatives like the Hibernian Hunger Project, we work to make a positive impact on those in need.
A Community of Brotherhood
Our division fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and belonging among our members. Whether proudly marching in the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Parade, celebrating Mass together, volunteering to support those in need, or gathering for fellowship, we cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere where meaningful, lifelong friendships are built.
